It has officially been two weeks since Lola Amour released their first ever EP: Don’t Look Back. If you’ve stumbled upon this page and don’t know who Lola Amour is, click here to take a look! Otherwise, relive the night in this article:
In every gig, it is usually expected to have more people come in during the middle of a set; you don’t normally expect a lot of people to fill the venue when the gig starts, however when hosts Yana Argano and Rai Barreiro introduced the first act, all the tables in Mow’s were already occupied, with more people trickling in as the night progressed.
Lola Amour wowed with their solid line-up. Hailing from UP, the 4-piece rock band Sofa Sky formally opened the event. It was not long until the venue filled up, everyone enjoying, revved up and ready for the next act.
Over October came up next, and prior to their set, the hosts were already hyping them up to the crowd. After filling the room with their music, the audience was definitely not disappointed, even clapping along to lead vocalist Josh Buizon.
Ang Bagong Luto Ni Enriquez
In comes Ang Bagong Luto ni Enriquez, bringing the house down and had Mow’s filled up with even more people, it was almost difficult to move two steps in any direction.
During the break, three lucky winners got to take home the Don’t Look Back EP. More prizes were raffled off, with bottles of Red Horse beer going to the winners of the Lola Amour guess the lyrics challenge. A short open mic session was held, with the performers being: Martti Franca and even one of the tech people (sorry, tech guy, couldn’t remember your name 😞)!
Always a crowd favorite, Tom’s Story came on stage. With the crowd still hyped up, they sang “Mugatu” as loud as they could, with even those seated singing along and still having fun.
Lola Amour came on for the final act, and to an even bigger crowd. The night wasn’t just a success for the band, but a most enjoyable evening for everyone there. Listen to their EP here:
